Dreaded porch pictures

Hello! I must beg you for a pass. I know it was just yesterday that I promised not to take pictures of snow from my porch with the intent of posting them to the Internet, but I have a good reason for doing this today. For real.

First, look what I stumbled upon this morning. Some photobooth pics that Adam and I took when we were in Breckenridge in November. My goodness, it doesn't seem like that long ago!

Due to the snow/general lethargy/golf tournament going on, Adam and I spent the better part of yesterday sitting on the couch with the one screen showing golf and the other movies. We were so serious about it, you would've thought it was our job for the day. We were ever-so-productive. Here's the list of movies: the second half of Scarface, the Shawshank Redemption, Wanderlust and A Few Good Men.

All this time seated on the couch (in front of the space heater, too) gave me a chance to get some handstitching done on these gorgeous cathedral squares. I promise that I wouldn't call them gorgeous to toot my own horn, it's just that I think the fabric is so beautifully displayed with this pattern--almost like each colorful square has its own frame--and I can't help but love them.

Adam and I ventured out to the porch this morning to take these photos and I think the snowy backdrop really makes the colors pop. I love these fabric squares for all they represent. When I look at this I think of napkins I made for my mom, a dress and quilt I made for little Eleanor, a party dress I intended to make for myself but never finished and a quilt made with fabric purchased on a fun trip to New York City.

It's so fun to put this together, but I wonder what it will be as it continues to grow. Is it a pillowcase? A decoration for our sofa? A wall hanging? A quilt?

For now, it's all about the process. And I am enjoying the process very much.

Ta for now!
